“Collateral” is a dark, dark song. Deep, buzzing synths are the first element that enter the picture, followed quickly by bursts of heavily effected drum kits and spare riffs from a guitar that sounds miles away. It’s not until you get to the chorus that the song gets beautiful, with a hauntingly melodic turn into a falsetto from the lead singer.
Worship are a UK band, new on the scene, and they definitely know how to write a song. I don’t have much info on them yet, but with this track they’ve put themselves on my list of acts to watch. “Collateral” might not be for everyone, but I highly suggest you check it out.
