Something you may not know about me: I really, really like romantic comedies. I watch them all the time, talk about them too much, and “Crazy Stupid Love” is definitely going to be in my top ten films of 2011. This song is perfect for a romantic comedy, it sounds uncannily well-crafted for either the happy montage of cute-couple-shit, or really anywhere else. It just has this earnest feeling to it that combines well with its pop appeal, as well as an inherent coolness.
So that’s the real reason I like the song. It reminds me of romantic comedies. Other reasons to like it: both The Pains of Being Pure at Heart and Twin Shadow are great, it’s got that unbeatable indie-dance combo going on and, finally, it’s just a fantastic track.
