I’m really glad I checked this out. With a name like Party Supplies and an album full of remixes of popular songs, there was a huge chance that I would let this project just slip through the cracks and never look back. However, I was aware of a great PS remix of “Home,” and A-Trak seems to have a somewhat decent taste in music, so when a Fool’s Gold signee lets loose a free album of introductory material I generally give it a chance.
What I found were extremely well-done remixes and a few originals that make Party Supplies extremely hard to hate on. Factor out the terrible name (although I suppose I can’t debate the fact that this is really good party music) and the fact that I won’t even listen to Kanye remixes, and you’ve got yourself an easy winner in Firecrackers.
