Guru (RIP) once explained, “A lot of rappers got flavor, and some got skills, but if your voice ain’t dope then you need to chill.” It’s good that Isaiah got into hip-hop, because his voice is made for rapping. Producer Hovey Benjamin compliments that voice with a few well-defined, uncluttered elements that make “Descent” a pretty straightforward knocker that’s hard not to instantly like. This one will end up on Isaiah & Hovey‘s upcoming album Dr. Hovey & Isaiah the Gentleman.
