I’ve been meaning to do this Arctic Monkeys post ever since I saw “Don’t Sit Down Cause I’ve Moved Your Chair” and the accompanying video, and that was about a month ago! Shame on me. I was reminded of my sloth a couple of days ago when new track “Reckless Serenade” was premiered and will now throw the non-posting monkey off my back and beat him to death with my keyboard.

The Arctic Monkeys’ new album, the wonderfully named Suck It And See, is out June 7th on Domino Records and you can stream two of the new tracks below, and check out the video for a third after the jump. These three tracks not only show how much the Arctic’s have matured and changed, but also shows the broad range of styles and influences which defines the band post-Favourite Worst Nightmare. “Reckless Serenade” could almost be called a ballad, and has some of that light, twinkly indie-pop sound that was missing from the last album, Humbug. “Don’t Sit Down Cause I’ve Moved Your Chair” however, is rock hard and contains an element of menace that is undeniably cool, in a sneering Julian Casablancas kind of way. Do you like this new direction? Cos I certainly do!

Hit the jump for the video for the rocking “Brick By Brick”, all screechy guitars and catchy hooks, as well as the official video for “Don’t Sit Down Cause I’ve Moved Your Chair”.
