Best known as the lead singer of Wolf Parade who’s not Spencer Krug, Dan Boekner’s lesser-known side project – Handsome Furs – is pretty incredible. He and his wife Alexei Perry comprise the duo, and they are a great example of electronic indie rock. Their first two albums were basically soaring synths with hip-hop beats and the desperate singing and great songwriting associated with the Wolf Parade sound. One of my favorite indie bands out there, easily. This one steps up the dance influence. The opening beat is downright housey, and it does nothing but get me excited for their new album, Sound Kapital. Get “What About Us” below for the price of an email – definitely worth it.
