Emeli Sandé - "Kill The Boy"

1.

Emili Sandé’s music is described as “soul pop” and her melodies are strong enough to be radio hits for Alicia Keys or Beyonce, but she’s got an acoustic rawness in these versions of “Kill The Boy” and “Maybe” that makes the music much more interesting. I hope she keeps this quality and doesn’t go full-blown pop in her album. Official single will be coming in July and the album should be ready this fall. She’s already worked with artists like Tinie Tempah, Professor Green, and Wiley. Check her out on Facebook.

Emeli is a 23-year-old singer songwriter and musician from rural northern Scotland who has taken a break from her degree in medicine, specialising in Clinical Neuro-Science, at Glasgow University. It’s the richly melodic, classically powerful and the retro-futurist soul-pop songs that will appear on her debut album that really stand out!  Emeli’s love for, and understanding of, Nina Simone, Joni Mitchell and Lauryn Hill that are most obvious, loud and proud.
