The Vaccines - "Wreckin' Bar" and "If You Wanna"

1.

The Vaccines debut album dropped yesterday in the UK, and is out May 31st in the States. It’s all spiky guitars, catchy hooks and simple, straight to the point drums. Basically most of it is great sub-3 minute songs to dance around like an idiot to, or if you’re some cooler-than-thou scenester kid, at least to nod your head slightly less casually than usual to. Pure, simple guitar music, lent some depth by the underlying sadness and longing in lead-singer Justin Youngs’ voice and the lovelorn tone of some tracks – this is good shit. Serious.

I don’t really like comparing bands to each other BUT there are definite hints of early Strokes going on here. So, they’re playing SXSW in Texas this week, you can cop their EP here, stream a couple of highlights from the album below, and check one of their videos after the jump.
