Well, shit. T.Shirt got my attention with “Never LOL“, a lighthearted track that showed some promise. Then I realized his talent went way deeper than that after checking out “24 Frames” and some of his mixtapes from ’10.
With this one, he blew me away.
T.Shirt takes Curren$y’s “Record Deals” from the latest mixtape Return To The Winner’s Circle and flipped it. While Curren$y is warning others of the hazards of Rule Number 4080 (as if we haven’t heard that side of the story already), T.Shirt articulates his own views on making it in the music business. His thoughts are well put and very intelligent. You can tell that, while he’s still got the mindset of a hungry rapper, he’s thought things through with clarity. My respect for T.Shirt continues to grow. Listen to the lyrics in the last 50 seconds.
