Happy New Year’s Day everyone! I was going to post Death Cab For Cutie’s “The New Year” to mark the occasion, but after listening to Bright Eyes‘ 2007 album Cassadaga yesterday, I thought “I Must Belong Somewhere” is more appropriate (and less predictable) as a “New Year’s Day song”. I’m not going to write the lyrics here, but I think the song’s messages of acceptance and peace (especially the line “Leave the hawks of war in their capitals”) are something worth listening to. So here’s to 2011, may it be filled with happiness, love, and great music!
