Jamie xx (of The xx) has taken on UK pop artist Eliza Doolittle‘s “Money Box” for a great remix that transforms Eliza‘s retro sound into a minimalist joint that uses some bubbling effects and what sounds like a xylophone played in a cave. The drums on this one are sick. Loving this remix.
Eliza Doolittle is a British pop singer mining sounds from the ’60s and ’70s, while bringing her own undeniable unique spin on pop music. Her sassy lyrics and jaunty melodies fit nicely along-side the sharp production, splicing ska, funk, jazz and soul. Her debut EP on Capitol Records, out November 23rd brings to mind everything from the Kinks, to the Marvelettes to the Beach Boys.
