For Carlos St. John‘s latest track he takes Kanye West’s “Runaway” beat and runs with it. I’m not a big fan of up and coming rappers going in over industry beats. I get a lot of those in my inbox and it’s really hard to get a feel for an artist’s unique style when they’re going in over a beat that a thousand other rappers have used. The difference is that Carlos really takes ownership of the beat. When he uses his voice, you feel what he feels. Check it out below.
