Fresh out of the inbox, this one has more bounce than…shit, why are the first things that pop into my head always obscene? Pat-Lee is a 20 year old emcee out of Birmingham, Alabama. This is his remix of Rai Knight’s “New New”, a thumping, jangling, feel good, catchy-as-hell pop song which is featured in Pepsi’s Refresh Project. His partner DJ FOTO gave me the first heads up on this one, so shout out to him for giving P&P the jump on some new talent.

This is the first I’ve heard from Pat-Lee, and with it he has proven that he’s filled to the fitted with potential. He’s got personality embedded in an up-to-date flow and he holds his own over an already solid jam. The lyrics aren’t mind blowing, but if the lyrics to a song this upbeat were mind blowing, it would probably be as awkward as when someone tries to talk about overcoming a death during a game of beer pong. I’m looking forward to hearing more and seeing if he can make something out of nothing. Check it out.
