Yesterday I did a post featuring a remix of Nneka‘s “Heartbeat” and it really got me excited about the future of Nneka. Then today I saw this video over at 2DB, and it sealed the deal – I need to post more Nneka. She’s got the kind of style that should appeal to almost everyone and she’s getting just the right amount of buzz. You know, enough to get people excited and spread the word, but not so much that she’s already getting manipulated by expectations. Judging from what I’ve heard, her career could go in a lot of different directions. She could go the route of an eclectic, colorful M.I.A. or Santigold, or she could turn out to be more of a soulful, rootsy Erykah Badu type. Even better, she might just end up being Nneka.
