Words and Songs and Words and Songs

P&P has been on some very fast paced shit lately. Thinking of putting together a re-cap soon, since so much good music has been rushing in. I probably won’t do it, but I just wanted to let you know that I’ve been thinking about it.

These songs are all worthy of their own post, but for the sake of keeping that new Lil Wayne/Eminem song on the front page for a little longer (you need to hear that), I decided to go with the quadpost.

Dubstep is on the burner right now. Get up on it before you look like a lagger. This is Xaphoon’s womp-womp-womp remix of one of Radiohead’s flexible In Rainbows tracks. Thanks to PMA.

From the DJ who brought you “I’m The Shit”, here’s another guaranteed party starter. Ignorant, repetitive, shallow? Yes, but well executed.

Willis from VV put me on to this one, and it’s definitely going on to the next mix I make. It sounds kind of like Ben Folds’ craftsmanship, but less corny and more raw. (No shots, Ben). I’m looking forward to hearing the rest of Fyfe’s album.

When I first heard this, it didn’t do much for me. But for some reason I kept coming back to it. Eventually I realized how much I like it. The build up of a song like this is like watching a skyscraper being constructed. When it starts, it doesn’t make any sense and you can’t imagine where it’s going. Layer upon layer is added, and eventually you’ve got this massive structure that looks like it never had a starting point. That break at 4:12 is wild.
