Yung Bleu is reminding would-be beat buyers that his price is on the rise after securing a Lil Wayne placement.
For his production work, the Alabama-born artist is going by the moniker Moon Boy, which is also the title of his debut album. As for the Weezy track, Bleu told fans via some celebration-focused posts on Twitter and Instagram that “the goat” had done “a whole song to one of my beats.”
Due to this development, as Bleu explained in another post (this time including footage of him joyously screaming out “I just got a fuckin’ Wayne fuckin’ placement, bitch!”), he’s now angling for a $50,000 asking price.
Worth noting here is that Bleu is indeed new to this side of the artform, though he’s been quick to amass an assortment of fellow artists who were more than game to lay down vocals over one of his beats.
Earlier this month, Bleu told fans he was “‘bout to start making beats” and told any interested artists to reach out. Within days, Kodak Black had done exactly that, vowing he was going to “slide on this shit he jus sent.”
Recent days have also seen Bleu connecting with producer Turbo, as well as Asian Doll and CEO Verse.
The Weezy link-up, meanwhile, is of particular importance for Bleu. Speaking with HotNewHipHop back in October, Bleu went deep on how influential Weezy has been on his songwriting approach.
“Lil Wayne is definitely one of my favorite rappers,” he said at the time, adding that he and others who were influenced by Weezy’s work felt challenged to “see how creative they can get” when it comes to crafting punchlines.
