Fresh off releasing remixes to CJ’s “Whoopty” and SpotemGotem’s “Beat Box”, Young M.A blessed fans Friday with her latest single, “Successful.”
Backed by a triumphant soul sample, the Diretto da Rook-directed visual recounts M.A’s meteoric rise as she transitions from drinking liquor in an apartment in Brooklyn to sauntering around a high-rise penthouse in Manhattan.
“Successful” is the second offering from Young M.A’s upcoming mixtape Off the Yak, following the previously released title track which hit in February. The project will be the BK rapper’s first full-length release since last year’s Red Flu EP, and serves as the official follow-up to her 2019 debut album, Herstory in the Making.
During an interview with Complex last May, the 28-year-old independent artist shed light on her upcoming sophomore album, telling fans it will arrive sometime in 2021.
“I can’t give you a specific date. I can’t even give you a title because I don’t even know what I’m going to name it. But I’m definitely working on music for it. And you’re going to see features on it this time,” M.A offered.
