Young Dolph is done with music…again.
On Tuesday, the 35-year-old South Memphis native took to Instagram where he announced that his latest project with Key Glock—Dum and Dummer 2, which dropped Friday—is actually his last musical outing.
“i hope y’all enjoying the new mixtape, it’s my last project putting out,” Dolph wrote. “i wasn’t gonna tell y’all but i thought y’all should know im done with music. ENJOY”
This isn’t the first time Young Dolph threatened to put the mic down. A year ago, Dolph told his Instagram followers he was ready to step away from music so he could be a full-time family man. He then confirmed to Complex that he would be stepping away from the stage.
“I’m done doing music so I can go kick it with my son,” he said in March 2020.
Yet Dolph quickly reneged on his retirement plans. Less than three weeks later, he revealed his son wanted him to continue his music career. He happily obliged by announcing a new album.
Dolph and his Paper Route protégé Key Glock released the second installment of their series on Friday. The project features tracks like “I’m the Type” and “Yeeh Yeeh.” They also released a video for the project-ending “Dummest & the Dummest.”
