More than most, Leicester’s Sainté is impossible to pin down. Dipping in and out different styles and sounds with each release, he often finds himself grouped with the likes of A2 and Knucks, which is fitting since he recently hopped in the studio with them both for his latest single, “Summer Is Blue”.

The new single is the latest to be taken from an upcoming EP of the same name, which will be his third overall following January’s Local MVP and early fan favourite Champagne Shots. His debut single only dropped in late 2019, but the 22-year-old is already gathering some serious pace; and all this after going semi-pro as a basketball player.

Produced by HoneywoodSix, Clonez, Elevated (with additional production by Brad Baker), “Summer Is Blue” gives fans a snapshot of three top flight rappers at the height of the powers, bouncing rhymes at each other like they’re on the court — it’s relaxed yet precise, and you can hear the fun they had in the studio in every line. Similarly, the video from director Arran Ashan’s looks just as fun, starting with scenes in a spotless country house before they make their way down to the docks.

“An overdue link up!” Sainté commented. “I’m glad that I managed to get us all together to drop this special record! YS SZN, project time!”

Hit play on the new video above and then make sure you add “Summer Is Blue” to all your playlists.
