It’s been just shy of two years since Birmingham’s nineteen97 kicked the doors in with his Jesse James Solomon-assisted debut single, “I Got”, but a lot has happened since then. The CHROME EP (and accompanying radio takeover CHROME FM) quickly followed, and he’s already back with his next EP, FOR ETERNITY, along with visuals for the EP’s second single “Tyler Durden”.

Once again teaming up with trusted collaborator Off Key for the production (who also produced the rest of the four-tracker, apart from opener “17:38” which the two co-produced together), “Tyler Durden” pairs densely-packed, urgent lyrics with an ominously calm instrumental. It also sees the 0121 graphic designer-turned-rapper connect with South Londoner Fee Gonzales and Blue Room Mafia’s Ninioh.

For the video, we’ve got Andy Smallman behind the camera who’s played up to the Fight Club allusions in the track with scenes of the three rhymers finding themselves trudging through the monotony of office life, ultimately succumbing to their own simmering dissatisfaction and turning to the chaos championed by Brad Pitt’s character in the film.

As for the rest of the EP, there are plenty more collaborations there. Fellow Brummies SIPHO. and Kea complete the Midlands contingent, Newham MC MicTy also makes a welcome appearance on the opener, and just to mix things up, the final guest spot comes from Brazilian MC SD9.
