NIGO fans just received a mid-week treat.

On Wednesday afternoon, the multi-hyphenate came through with the official video for “Hear Me Clearly” featuring Pusha-T. The cinematic visual was helmed by filmmaker Hidji, with creative direction by ASAP Rocky’s AWGE imprint. It begins with King Push scoping out a construction zone, which turns out to be a site for certain illicit activities.

“Hear Me Clearly”—produced by Kanye West, BoogzDaBeast, Luca Starz, and ThaMyind—served as the third single off NIGO’s newly released sophomore album I Know NIGO. The project was executive produced by Pharrell and included guest appearances by Kid Cudi, Gunna, Pop Smoke, Lil Uzi Vert, ASAP Ferg, and Tyler, the Creator.

Complex caught up with Pusha on the set of the “Hear Me Clearly” video earlier this year. The G.O.O.D. Music president confirmed his collaboration with NIGO is what ultimately led him to reconnect with Pharrell. Push said the producer/rapper had heard an early version of the song and wasn’t exactly impressed. Pharrell reportedly told Pusha he thought the song was fine, but believed the Virginia Beach MC could do better.

“It’s cool, but I don’t want you to be a mixtape rapper for the rest of your life,” Pusha recalled. “He was being snide and nasty.”

After receiving the “devastating” feedback, King Push enlisted Pharrell to executive produce his upcoming album. He told Complex the project will be much better than its already stellar predecessor, 2018’s Daytona, saying it’s “is more well-rounded.”

“It’s more colorful,” he continued. “I think Daytona was solid. It’s that thing, and I gave you that thing. I feel like this one is more well-rounded, with the same amount of greatness, but the bars are better and I push myself as a songwriter.”
