Attorney Alex Spiro, who represents Megan Thee Stallion, has issued a statement condemning Drake’s “Circo Loco” lyrics.

As previously reported, the track (taken from Drake and 21 Savage’s Her Loss album) sees Drake making an apparent reference not only to Megan Thee Stallion, but to the 2020 shooting incident in which she was allegedly assaulted by Tory Lanez:

“This bitch lie ‘bout getting shots but she still a stallion”

“Despite the irrefutable evidence that Megan was a victim of gun violence, the ignorant continue to support her attacker,” Spiro said in a statement shared with Complex on Friday.

Spiro later spoke to TMZ about the situation, saying, “I know many of the folks across the industry, but those people are going to look very silly when the facts fully come out.”

In a series of tweets shared amid discussion about the lyrics in question, Megan urged artists to stop using mentions of the shooting “for clout.” She also said she’s looking forward to when “the mf facts come out.”

In a Rolling Stone interview earlier this year, Megan opened up about how some have attempted to make her “the villain” in the situation. She also said she wants to see Lanez “go to jail” in connection with the shooting, the ensuing court proceedings of which have remained a source of headlines for two years now.

In April, Lanez was determined by a judge to have violated a protective order in the felony assault case. Meanwhile, the case itself has also continued to be made the subject of numerous false claims, including a fabricated assertion last year of charges against Lanez having been dropped. This social media-shared claim was quickly shown to be not true.
