Maxo Kream has announced the release date for his upcoming album Weight of the World, which is set to arrive on October 18. To mark the occasion, the Houston rapper has dropped the latest single from the project.

Produced by Hit-Boy, “Greener Knots,” arrives with an accompanying Spike Jordan-directed music video, and sees the Houston rapper spitting about his origin story. “Okay, I seen a lot, runnin’ in and out of granny house / Uncle bummin’ on the couch, first time I seen a rock / Headed right there in the chair, watchin’ WWE, first time he seen The Rock,” Maxo raps on the hard-hitting beat.

The new track follows the previously released singles “Local Joker” and “Big Persona,” both of which are expected to be on Maxo’s forthcoming album. The LP serves as the official follow up to his 2019 full-length offering Brandon Banks.

Back in August, Maxo spoke with Complex about the life lessons he’s learned in the two years since he dropped his 2019 critically acclaimed album Brandon Banks.

“Just making sure it’s the right project, but then don’t take too long,” the Houston rapper explained. “Over time, I grew more as a person. Each album, I grow. Y’all watched me from “Trigga [Maxo]”-Maxo to “Meet Again”-Maxo. That’s a big difference. I’m always going to keep progressing and growing with my fans. Fans want to see you progress. I also got a more emotional bond with my fans. I tell stories about my life, so I bring my fans into my life and they feel like they know me. And even if they don’t feel like they know me, they can definitely relate.”
