The last time Complex caught up with Lord Apex, the rapper had just dropped the third piece in his woozy, psych-rap mixtape series, Smoke Sessions

Since then, the West London native has remained busy—trading verses with the likes of Finn Foxell and Denzel Himself, and touring the country. He’s also just shared the visuals for Smoke Sessions 3 track “Rap Spliff”. Produced by Slumfu, the song is an exercise in what Lord Apex does best: spitting straight-talking bars over warped, lo-fi-tinged instrumentals.

Apex’s smooth delivery melts into the beat, with a charisma that calls to mind the late MF DOOM, creating a smoked-out level of ambience only rivalled by his own catalogue.

For the visuals, Apex taps Doukkala to shoot his DIY adventure. Throughout, the wordsmith can be seen cruising through a derelict forest, rocking blacked-out shades and a slick tan waterproof shell jacket, as he spits to the camera for the minute-long clip.
