As the rap world continues to mourn the death of Atlanta rapper Lil Keed, more information has emerged about what transpired in the days leading up to his untimely passing on May 13.

Per TMZ, sources claim the YSL lyricist was experiencing severe stomach pain in the days leading up to his death. The discomfort was so intense it eventually landed Keed in the hospital, and from there, his liver and kidneys reportedly began failing. Sources informed the outlet that Keed had struggled with drugs and alcohol in the past, but that he had recently been clean and sober.

The latest information comes as Keed’s friends and family continue to mourn the loss of the 24-year-old Young Thug affiliate, whose death was initially shared by his brother Lil Gotit on social media.

“Can’t believe I seened u die today bro I did all my cries,” Gotit wrote on his Instagram. “I know what u want me to do and that’s go hard for Mama Daddy Our Brothers Naychur and Whiteboy.” The mother of Keed’s daughter, Quana Bandz, also shared Instagram posts mourning his tragic passing.

Over the weekend, Gotit shared on his Instagram Story that he had finally broken the news to Keed’s mentor Young Thug.

“Talked to [Young Thug] yesterday keed u fucked him up with this one but we know you guarding him through these times and make sure he gone be alright We da Proud Family can’t nothing stop us,” Gotit wrote. He added that he also spoke to Gunna, who he said was overall just “sad” about YSL’s recent turmoil.

“Talked to @gunna he good just sad what’s goin on with twin but everything gone be in our favor,” Gotit added.

Keed was not named in the recent indictment involving Young Thug and Gunna, and The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office is expected to do an autopsy later this week.
