One thing Lil Durk won’t stand for in the New Year is people who front like they’re tough but aren’t.

The Chicago rapper took to Instagram to share his grievances, writing, “I don’t say much but I’m tired of making goofies on our end look tuff as hell knowing n***as teddy bear,” per Say Cheese TV.

Durkio has had a rough couple of years with the deaths of his brother DThang in 2021 and King Von in 2020. However, last year ended on a high note for him when he proposed to his longtime girlfriend India Royale at Chicago’s Big Jam right before Christmas.

“You know I love you to death,” he said onstage. “You’ve been holding me down when I was going through a lot. You’re the realest and I just love you to death. Would you want to be my wife?” She, of course, said yes. The pair share one child together, Willow, who’s now three.

Durk’s career has also been soaring. At the end of 2021, he officially tied with Taylor Swift for having the most songs land on the Billboard Hot 100 of any artist in any genre, with both getting 41 tracks each on the chart. Among those songs for Durk were his Pooh Shiesty collaboration “Back in Blood,” Coi Leray’s “No More Parties,” and Drake’s “In the Bible.” He also recently collaborated with Morgan Wallen for the song and video “Broadway Girls,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart.
