The 64th Annual Grammy Awards, complete with returning host Trevor Noah, brought the festivities to Las Vegas this time around.

As awards show enthusiasts will note, the 2022 edition of the Grammys was indeed initially slated to take place back in January at Crypto.com Arena (formerly known as Staples Center) in Los Angeles until pandemic concerns resulted in a rescheduling.

Leading up to Sunday was a week-long series of special events, including the virtual Grammy in the Schools Festival and a MusiCares Person of the year ceremony for honoree Joni Mitchell. Preceding the ceremony itself in news coverage, meanwhile, was the discourse spurred by the artist formerly known as Kanye West being reported to have had a performance offer rescinded.

Ye’s Donda is among the albums up for Album of the Year. Others whose albums received nods in that category this year include Justin Bieber, Doja Cat, Lil Nas X, Taylor Swift, and more. Upon the unveiling of the 2022 class of nominees last November, Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. said that these year’s nominations “beautifully reflect today’s broad and diverse musical landscape.”
