Prominent eSports team FaZe Clan has unleashed its first-ever in-house music artist, FaZe Kaysan, who tapped Lil Durk and Future for his debut single “Made a Way.”
The track is co-produced by Grammy nominee Wondagurl, who recently landed a production credit on Drake’s Certified Lover Boy (“Fair Trade”).
In a press release, WondaGurl said, “It was a lot of fun connecting with Kaysan on this project. He has a great vibe and is super enthusiastic, two things that are really important to me when I’m working with new artists. Kaysan has a vision for himself and is driven to succeed and make his mark.”
FaZe Kaysan, a producer, DJ, creator, and artist, has also made his mark in the professional gaming world, competing in massive Call of Duty and NBA2K tournaments alongside the world’s best gamers.
“Beyond Kaysan’s skills as a producer and DJ, his ability to uniquely identify and bring various creatives together for a single project is his superpower,” said Darren Yan, head of talent at FaZe Clan. “He had a complete vision for this project and every collaborator from his co-writers to the featured artists to director of the music video were all precisely calculated in his mind. Not many can execute in the way Kaysan can and that was a driving force of why FaZe Clan signed him as our first artist.”
Lil Durk’s guest appearance follows his recent feature on EST Gee’s latest single “In Town,” off the rapper’s label debut mixtape Bigger Than Life or Death. Meanwhile, “Made a Way” catches Future fresh off his hard-hitting new single with Gunna “Too Easy.” The track premiered last week alongside some complementary video game-themed visuals.
