Eve announced a few days ago that she and her husband Maximillion Cooper are expecting their first child together, with her expected due date in February.

The rapper opened up about learning of her pregnancy just before battling Trina in their Verzuz this past June.

“Well what’s crazy is, that’s when I just found out I was pregnant,” Eve told the Breakfast Club crew around the 28:25 minute mark, when asked if she loved her Verzuz. “I literally, newly, was pregnant. And I was stressed thee fuck out, because my stylist didn’t bring me no clothes. So that whole day, I had a meltdown right before we went on.”

Eve continued, “So, I loved it because it was Trina...and it was Swizz. And he took care of me, and Swizz knew, which is why I didn’t fly to Miami. I was supposed to fly to Miami and at the last minute, I didn’t. I had to tell Swizz and he was like, ‘All good sis. We got you.’ Of course, my brother—I love him so much. So I was stressed out. I was like, ‘Am I standing too much?’ I kept thinking about the baby. … ‘Am I screaming too much? Can you rap when you’re pregnant?’ That’s all I thought about. I don’t know, it’s my first kid.”

Eve, 42, revealed her pregnancy on Instagram, where she posted a photo of her cradling her belly and wrote, “You all know how long we’ve been waiting for this blessing!!! We get to meet our lil human February 2022.” She and Cooper said their I do’s in 2014, when she also became stepmom to his four children.

Eve spoke to the Breakfast Club alongside Brandy, Naturi Naughton, and Nadine Velazquez, who were chatting in advance of the first episode of their new ABC series Queens. Naughton also disclosed that the MTV Cribs episode her former group 3LW shot back in the early 2000s was fake. The trio didn’t own the home that they showed off on the show. “We had to pretend,” Naturi said. “I didn’t have a car, I didn’t have a house, I didn’t have any of those things.”

Elsewhere, Eve also discussed the death of DMX. “After that happened, I really felt like he, for real, was at peace,” she said, describing his energy as “pure,” a sentiment Nas just echoed in his Desus & Mero appearance.
