Fresh off the release of Life of a Don, Don Toliver sat down with Apple Music 1 host Ebro Darden to discuss his latest project. In a clip Complex is sharing ahead of the full interview, Ebro brought up to the Cactus Jack artist if he’s thought about doing a full-length project with another artist of his caliber, and named album collaborator Baby Keem.
“Is Baby Keem somebody like that, that you could really be like, yo, we could do 10 records?” Ebro asked, to which Toliver replied, “Oh no, facts, facts. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It’d be dangerous.”
Don also talked about how he and Keem initially connected. “I just randomly hit him up, reached out to him, and just let him know I wanted to work,” he explained. “I pulled up on him one day in L.A. We did the record on his album Melodic Blue, “Cocoa.” That’s the one I’m on with him. I did that and from there we just kicked it off, you know what I’m saying? There’s not too many people out here in the industry that I really click with or understand too well. He’s a great guy.”
After “Cocoa,” Don Toliver and Baby Keem would come together on Life of a Don standout cut “Outerspace.”
You can check out the early preview of Don Toliver’s upcoming interview up top, which includes Ebro feeling out some potential titles for the hypothetical—and hopefully eventual—Toliver x Keem link-up. The full interview will air at 4:30 p.m. ET today on Apple Music 1 here.
