Multi-platinum Puerto Rican rapper CJ has returned with a brand new single and video titled “Replica,” which features a guest appearance from El Alfa. It’s produced by Chael Produciendo, the Grammy-nominated hitmaker who previously produced El Alfa’s massive hit “La Mamá de la Mamá,” which also featured CJ and amassed over 150 million streams.

“Replica” comes as CJ’s career continues to explode in 2021. Last year’s debut smash “Whoopty” is now twice-platinum, and garnered co-signs from Busta Rhymes, Cardi B, Ozuna, and French Montana among others.

CJ and DJ Enuff were awarded the “Whoopty” double platinum plaque before their groundbreaking set at Hot 97’s 2021 Summer Jam. CJ gave a historic performance alongside Farruko and El Alfa, and together the trio were the first Spanish-speaking artists to take the Summer Jam stage.

CJ has since shown no signs of slowing down, and spoke frankly in an interview with Complex about his massive success. “It’s definitely a blessing,” he said. “This is something that I always wanted since I was a child. I always had a passion for music. I was just practicing and working on my craft up until now, and finally, my dreams are coming true. I knew it would come. I just knew in the back of my mind, I needed to put the work in. I always had that in my head that hard work pays off. I always live by that.”

CJ added that he’s not trying to chase another hit, and instead is just working to enjoy the ride. “I just feel like you got to have fun with it,” he said. “If you try to chase another hit, you’re going to be so focused on that, and you’re not going to have fun with it.
