Cardi B decided to respond to a Twitter user who asked her why she no longer publicly discusses political matters.

“@iamcardib Used to talk about politics & political matters!” the fan wrote in a tweet Thursday. “What happened with that?!??”

It didn’t take long for Cardi to defend herself, writing, “I was tired of getting bullied by the republicans and also getting bashed by the same people I was standing up for.”

The Invasion of Privacy rapper has been pretty vocal about her political opinions throughout the years and has clashed with far-right conservatives like Candace Owens, Ben Shapiro, and Tomi Lahren.

Cardi previously supported Bernie Sanders in the 2020 presidential election and even got together with the Vermont senator to talk about a range of issues facing Americans in a video that was released back in 2019. She connected with the senator again in 2020 after he dropped out of the race.

Of course, it isn’t the first time Cardi has clapped back at a Twitter user for getting in her business.

Back in August, the Bronx rapper came to Offset’s defense after a troll wrote that Cardi “really be keeping the lights on at her and Offset house, she stay working hard and he be…,” seemingly implying that Offset doesn’t work as hard as Cardi.

“My man literally perform this mornin for college game day, performing later on again tonight after celebrating the finally of his HBO last night flying in tomorrow to ring the bell Monday on a investment,” Cardi wrote. “You must got my n***a confuse wit the n***as you f*****n and maintaining.”
