5 Acts to See at the Meadows 2017

Here's a look at some under-the-radar artists to catch at the Meadows 2017 Music and Arts Festival.

The Meadows Music and Arts Festival, only in its second year, has become a must-attend event for those in the New York area. The 2017 edition ups the ante by expanding from two days to three (Sept. 15-17), and with a lineup that includes Jay Z, Gorillaz, Future, M.I.A., 21 Savage, and Erykah Badu, attendees will have more than enough big name acts to catch.

That said, don't sleep on the artists who will be taking the stage earlier in the day as Meadows locked in some choice talent to round out the bill. We've highlighted a handful who are poised to make an all-day affair at Citi Field worth it.

The Meadows made it a point this year to showcase acts from NYC and its surrounding areas, including rising R&B talent Jordan Bratton. The Long Island artist planted a flag early on in his career with The Grey Area and YOUTH EP, projects he'll pull from during his set on the main stage.

Big Wild

Big Wild

Set Time: Fri., Sept. 15 at 2:15 p.m. (Queens Blvd Stage)

Big Wild has capitalized on the expanding electronic scene and the results have been impressive from the DJ, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. Earlier this year, the Foreign Family Collective (founded by ODESZA) affiliate dropped his Invincible EP and has been on the road since, checking off festival appearances nationwide. Which is to say, Big Wild has been putting in reps to properly tear down Meadows when he arrives.

Youngr

Set Time: Sat., Sept. 16 at 12:45 p.m. (Queens Blvd Stage)

UK artist Dario Darnell (under the stage name Youngr) is churning out a unique blend of synth-pop with a backbone, which translates seamlessly to the stage. While his solo catalog is relatively small, you'll no doubt find yourself grooving to a handful of tunes that will turn you into a fan.

GTA

GTA

Set Time: Sun., Sept. 17 at 2:15 p.m. (Queens Blvd Stage)

GTA have been a mainstay in clubs across the country, where the Miami DJ/production duo provide a high-energy show by mixing party-rocking cuts with a collection of their own remixes and originals. Earlier this year they dropped their debut album Good Times Ahead, which features songs that should set the table for a memorable performance that will have Citi Field on 💯.

Broods

Broods

Set Time: Sun., Sept. 17 at 3 p.m. (American Eagle Stage)

New Zealand-based duo Broods have built a nice following stateside, with their 2016 sophomore album Conscious playing a big role in pushing their indie pop sound to new ears. The Meadows will be another opportunity for the sibling act to show they have what it takes to go bigger.
