Young Thug Hit With 8 Felony Charges for 2017 Georgia Arrest

Young Thug has been hit with eight felonies related to his September 2017 arrest in Georgia, including possession and intent to distribute meth, marijuana, and Hydrocodone.

Young Thug has reportedly been hit with eight felony charges related to a 2017 arrest.

The incident, which went down in Georgia last September, started with Thugger being booked for allegedly illegal window tints and drug possession. Now, according to a TMZreport, he’s been charged with eight felonies. Thugger has reportedly been charged with possession and intent to distribute meth, marijuana, and Hydrocodone. Additionally, he’s been hit with amphetamine, Alprazolam, and codeine possession charges and a firearm-related charge.

"I will do everything that is lawful and ethical to clear Mr. Williams of this false allegation," Brian Steel, Thugger's attorney at the time of the 2017 arrest, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution at the time. The Slime Language curator was arrested in DeKalb County when cops pulled over a 2016 Mercedes Benz Maybach "after suspecting that its tint was too dark." Following a vehicle search, Thugger and another passenger were arrested.

Last week, Young Thug was announced as one of the performers at this year's Dreamville Festival. The inaugural edition of J. Cole's North Carolina-set fest also counts Big Sean, SZA, Teyana Taylor, YBN Cordae, and Rich the Kid on the lineup.

Last month, we received a track many had assumed would never see the light of day after its initial tease: Young Thug's take on Elton John's 1972 classic "Rocket Man." Speaking with Complex, producer Stelios Phili recalled just how quickly the collab came together. "They're both icons of individuality," he said. "So I reached out to Thug's A&R Geoff Ogunlesi, hoping there would be some way we could bring them together. He was down. I built a new beat around the 'Rocket Man' a cappella, sent it in, and Thug cut it that night."
