Tuesday also saw the release of a new video for Nas’ “Ugly,” a track from his and Hit-Boy’s 2021 album Magic. The video arrives just under a month after the visual revival of “Wave Gods,” featuring DJ Premier and ASAP Rocky. This month, Wu-Tang Clan’s studio debut, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), was revealed as among the latest recorded works to be selected for archiving by the National Recording Registry at the Library of Congress. A total of 25 sound recordings are selected annually, with other 2022 honorees including A Tribe Called Quest’s The Low End Theory and Alicia Keys’ Songs in A Minor.

“The National Recording Registry reflects the diverse music and voices that have shaped our nation’s history and culture through recorded sound,” Carla Hayden, Librarian of Congress, said when unveiling the 2022 archival selections.
