For Posty, the Outside Lands headlining announcement comes amid continued teases surrounding the release of his next album, which will mark his first full-length since 2019’s Hollywood’s Bleeding. According to a recent Instagram caption from co-manager Dre London, the album—tentatively titled Twelve Carat Toothache—will arrive at some point in May.

Outside Lands isn’t the only festival spot on Posty’s summer agenda, as he’s also set to hit Lyrical Lemonade Summer Smash in Chicago in June. On the lineup for the June 17-19 event are Young Thug, Rico Nasty, Gunna, Playboi Carti, Yeat, Flo Milli, and more.

Fellow Outside Lands headliner SZA, meanwhile, is fresh off a Best Pop Duo/Group Performance win at this year’s Grammy Awards ceremony for the Doja Cat collab “Kiss Me More.” Back in January, she released the official visualizer for the hit “I Hate U,” starring Atlanta’s LaKeith Stanfield. For Green Day, the 2022 Outside Lands slot follows last year’s release of the punk trio’s BBC Sessions compilation album. The group’s most recent studio full-length, the Butch Walker-produced Father of All Motherfuckers, arrived back in February 2020 and was ultimately celebrated on the road with the Hella Mega Tour featuring Fall Out Boy and Weezer.
