The lawsuit against the underrated 2013 track "23" has been dropped.
The Blastreported Thursday without much ceremony that the suit against Miley Cyrus, Juicy J, Wiz Khalifa, and producer Mike Will Made-It had been dropped outright roughly three months after news of its existence first arrived. Unfortunately, the Blast report also very incorrectly refers to the legend Juicy J as "Juicy Jay."
As we learned back in September, artist Yella the Triple Threat initially accused the "23" collaborators of stealing a song she released in 2012 titled "Js on My Feet." At the time, she asked for an injunction and thousands in damages. Juicy J was later removed from the suit, with Yella citing "an agreement regarding this matter." Now, she's dismissed the whole damn thing with a suit drop. Cyrus, per reports, had not responded to the suit's initial claims in court.
The one-off "23" arrived ahead of Miley's reinvention entry Bangerz, which notably featured the heavily dissected hits "We Can't Stop" and "Wrecking Ball." Mike Will was all over the album's 13-song tracklist, including on the Big Sean-featuring "Love Money Party." Additionally, he co-produced the Ludacris-featuring deluxe edition cut "Hands in the Air" with P-Nasty.
The album was followed by another reinvention, albeit less dramatic, in the form of Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz. The Flaming Lips-assited album was released for free and notably features one of the strongest Miley cuts in existence "Karen Don't Be Sad." Last year, Miley returned with Younger Now.
