Premiere: Watch Kidd Kenn’s New Video for Inspiring Track “Body”

In a statement, Kidd Kenn said his "Body" track is meant to serve as a source of inspiration for everyone to feel confident about their own bodies.

Kidd Kenn is back with a new video for his single “Body,” premiering today via Complex.

In a statement, Kenn—who last year recruited Saucy Santana for his “B4” remix—mentioned Nicki Minaj as a source of inspiration for the visual.

“I want to give a big shoutout to Nicki Minaj because she was a lot of the inspiration behind the ‘Body’ video,” Kenn told Complex. “For me, the ‘Body’ video is giving very much doll. I’m really showing fans Kenn’s world.”

The track serves as the first single from a new EP from Kenn, who back in 2020 shared his Child’s Play album featuring the memorable CupcakKe collab “Shake Sum.”

Speaking on the importance of the lyrical themes found in “Body,” Kenn noted the song is intended to encourage people to find confidence in their own bodies instead of letting various insecurities deny them that joy.

“‘Body’ is a song meant to make people feel really good about their bodies, to really let go of their insecurities and feel confident in themselves,” Kenn said. “It’s really about supporting people in doing what they want for themselves to feel as confident as possible.”

Following recent performances at the So What Festival in Arlington and WeHo Pride in West Hollywood, Kenn is set to take the stage at a Taking Black Pride event in Seattle on June 25. Also confirmed as part of the 2022 lineup for Taking Black Pride’s Seachella are CJ the Trainer, Ppcocaine, Morgan Britt, and more.
