Amid Kendrick Lamar’s ongoing Big Steppers Tour, which features Baby Keem on all dates, footage from various stops has made the rounds on social media and shows just how immersive Kendrick’s performances are for this outing.

A recent viral clip from the tour showed a security worker being visibly moved by Kendrick’s live take on the DAMN track “Love,” with the individual in question ultimately being brought to tears.

In an interview with Jazzy’s World TV, Kendrick confirmed he’s seen the clip in question while also noting how important the “feeling” of his music is versus other elements of the artistic process.

“It’s really just about the feeling of it at the end of the day,” Kendrick told his young interviewer. “Past all the politics, past all the numbers. It’s what music makes you feel, how it makes you feel. So to see that … And shout-out to him by the way because I seen him, bro. I was like, man, I wonder what he going through? But at the end of the day that’s how you want everybody to perceive your music.”

Elsewhere in the conversation, Jazzy asked, “What is the most important of your legacy that you want to be remembered?

“It’s really just the impact to inspire people, you know, and always showing them that the duality of life is not such a bad thing,” the 35-year-old answered. “You know, we go through so many volatile situations where we don’t really know how to connect or communicate how we feel. So through my music, I wanna make sure that’s the legacy—showing people how to communicate, and it’s okay if you’re not perfect, you know. It’s about accepting the beauty of imperfection.”

Next up for Kendrick this month are tour stops in Tampa, New Orleans, Atlanta, and Nashville. Kendrick will be on the road in support of Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers through December. For a full list of dates and additional tour info, hit this link.
