The annual Las Vegas gathering known as the Adult Video News Awards went down this weekend, complete with a history-making musical guest.
Cardi B, who's up for Album of the Year at next month's Grammys, opened Saturday night's Hard Rock Hotel & Casino throwdown with a run-through of "She Bad," "Bickenhead," and more. The performance earns Cardi the distinction of being the first woman to perform at the AVN Awards. To put that in perspective, the 2019 edition marked the 36th edition of the annual celebration of adult film creators.
For Cardi, the chance to make history at the Vegas celebration actually means more to her than a Grammys moment. "I'm so excited for these awards . . . more than the Grammys," she told the crowd Saturday night, perRolling Stone. "I don't know why."
If you're like me, then you unfortunately missed Cardi's history-making performance and will have to peruse fan and/or attendee-shared clips instead. Do that below.
Ahead of the performance, Cardi hit Instagram with some timely and admirable calling out of the dolts who often criticize her for such things. "Can I be sexy one time and not get called a slut?" she said. "Sheesh."
