The time has finally arrived for the unveiling of the 2018 Grammy nominations.

The four General Field categories (Best New Artist, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year) were announced first on CBS This Morning by singer Andra Day, while the rest of the field was subsequently unveiled on the official Grammy website.

Jay Z is at the top with eight nominations; he’ll compete against Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, Bruno Mars and Lorde for Album of the Year. K-Dot is one behind Hov with seven 2018 nominations; trailing him are Bruno Mars (six nods), then, with five, SZA (also the most-nominated woman), Childish Gambino, No I.D., and Khalid.

Donald Glover’s recognition here follows his crazy 2017 tear, with Atlanta winning a Golden Globe for Best TV Series – Musical or Comedy, and Glover himself getting a Globe for Best Actor in a TV Series – Musical or Comedy, then Emmys for Best Lead Actor in a Comedy Series and Best Director for a Comedy Series. As Childish Gambino, he has two previous Grammy nods: Best Rap Performance for “3005” (lost to “i”) and Best Rap Album (lost to The Marshall Mathers LP 2.)

A couple of interesting English pop star snubs this year, each of whom has one of the best-selling albums of 2017: a complete Harry Styles shutout, and Ed Sheeran scoring only two noms for Divide, with neither the LP nor “Shape of You” able to bust out of the Pop Field.

Special congrats to Best New Artist nominees SZA and 666 god Lil Uzi Vert. Check out a selection of nominees below.
