ASAP Ferg has signed a new management deal with Roc Nation, Variety reports.
Fans can also expect new music from the ASAP Mob member—and soon, with his next song, produced by the Neptunes, arriving on Oct. 29.
“It has always been a dream to work with Jay-Z,” Ferg said in a statement. “For decades I have looked up to the moves he’s made with his diverse range of business ventures but especially with companies like Roc-A-Fella and Roc Nation. His ability to build brands and create teams alongside leaders like Jay Brown is unmatched, and it feels good to be officially a part of the family.”
Ferg released his latest project, last year’s Floor Seats II, which included the song “Move Ya Hips” with Nicki Minaj and MadeinTYO, which peaked at No. 19 on the Billboard Hot 100. During the course of Ferg’s career, three of his solo songs have gone platinum—“Plain Jain,” “Shabba” with ASAP Rocky, and “New Level” with Future—and “Still Striving’ and “Trap Lord” have gone gold.
He recently collaborated with Snapple on a new mini-documentary and capsule collection that paid homages to New York City’s bodegas. Titled A Snapple Corner Story, the doc featured cameo appearances from Anik Khan, ASAP Tyy, Dapper Dan, and more, and highlights the importance of bodegas to its surrounding community. The collection included a brown vintage hoodie, a navy stonewashed tee, a black tee, socks, and a black hat emblazoned with Snapple’s logo and “A Corner Story” in embroidery.
“I look for a classic brand that knows what their purpose is,” Ferg told Variety. “I’m not in this game just to make money. I want to make art.”
