Watch Jaden Smith in a Pastel Paradise in "George Jeff" Video
Jaden Smith shares his dreamy visuals for "George Jeff."
Jaden Smith has shared the visuals for his song, "George Jeff," off his long-awaited debut project SYRE. The video depicts Smith rocking gold grills and looking into the camera with a Polaroid camera hanging from his neck as he raps along in front of a gorgeous backdrop of a pastel toned canyon. The aesthetic is perfectly in sync with the album's cover art and previous visuals, and it's clear the kid has a sharp eye for design as well as rhymes.
Smith taunts us by hopping around the edge of what looks like a cliff-face, and by the end, stands with his back to the camera staring out into the gorge. The tension he builds by making you think he's about to jump adds a menacing undertone to the dreamy setting, but gives his line "I kill myself to resurrect" even more of a haunting quality.
While Smith continues to roll out music videos for SYRE, he recently shared on Twitter that the follow-up album might not be too far away. EYRS, or SYRE backwards, is slated for release sometime in 2018, but that's about all he's revealed so far.
