Last night, hours after a Staten Island grand jury elected not to indict an NYPD officer for his role in Eric Garner's death, protestors filled the streets of New York City in support of justice for Garner. J. Cole, among other celebrities including Spike Lee, joined the march:

Earlier this year, Cole and his Dreamville crew traveled down to Ferguson, Mo., to show support after the death of Mike Brown, the 18-year-old killed in Ferguson at the hands of a local police officer. Prior to his visit, he released the song "Be Free," a poignant tribute to Brown that used sample interview footage from witnesses of the shooting throughout the track. Last night, "Be Free" jumped to No. 2 on the Billboard + Twitter Trending 140. Cole's next solo album, 2014 Forest Hills Drive, drops on Dec. 9.
