Looks like A Tribe Called Quest aren't quite through with performing: LL Cool J brought out Q-Tip during his set at Meadows Festival in Queens earlier today. Together they performed âAward Tourâ off A Tribe Called Questâs 1993 album Midnight Marauders.

A Tribe Called Quest announced earlier this month at their performance at Bestival Festival that they would no longer perform together. âA Tribe Called Quest, we suffered a blow,â Q-Tip said at the show. âWe lost our boy Phife Dawg. This is gonna be our last show as A Tribe Called Quest, ever.â The legendary rap group canceled their Outside Lands Festival set two times last month, and explained it was due to a âwave of griefâ following Phife Dawgâs death last year.
Even though LL Cool Jâs performance was not streaming on Tidal like the majority of the Meadows festival, he brought out even more legendary guests during his performance at the festival, including DMC and Grandmaster Flash.

LL Cool J is set to be honored by the Kennedy Center later this year, making him the first hip-hop artist to receive the award. Back when the honorees were announced in August, Q-Tip was one of the first people to congratulate his friend. LL Cool J also demonstrated his gratefulness by penning an emotional statement on Instagram. Â
Thank you Tip!!!! I appreciate you homie!! đȘđŸđȘđŸđȘđŸ
