After weeks of anticipation, YG has delivered his star-studded studio album I Got Issues, which he says is his best since debuting with My Krazy Life almost nine years ago.

“The album I Got Issues is basically insight on my life, an update on my life,” YG said in an Instagram video earlier this week. “I feel like my people haven’t heard from me in a real way, in a long time. So I’m giving them this album…I’m here with all my issues, you know what I’m sayin’?”

I Got Issues marks YG’s first solo album since 2020’s My Life 4Hunnid, and his first full-length release since last year’s Kommunity Service with Mozzy. The Compton native confirmed the drop on social media this month, following the release of singles like “Toxic,” “Maniac,” “Alone,” and “Scared Money” featuring J. Cole and Moneybagg Yo.

YG previewed the project during a listening session in Los Angeles, where he confirmed a collaboration with Nas (“No Weapons”).

“I was trying to get [Nas] on my second album,” YG said during the event, as reported by Vibe. “But it just didn’t happen. But he’s been showing love since day one, he always supported my shit. So when I finally got the verse, I was like, ‘Finally.’ The song that I got him on, it makes sense because I’m popping it like I’m God’s son, and that’s like his shit.”

Other guest artists include H.E.R., Roddy Ricch, Post Malone, Mozzy, and Cuco.

Shortly after dropping I Got Issues, YG shared the video for “I Dance” featuring Duki & Cuco and a cameo appearance from Danny Trejo.
