Snoop Dogg Working With Dr. Dre on 'Missionary' Album
Snoop announced the project on Stephen A. Smith's 'Know Mercy' podcast. The West Coast legend said the album will be completed sometime next month.

Itās confirmed.Ā Snoop DoggĀ andĀ Dr. DreĀ have a new album on deck.
During an appearance onĀ Stephen A. Smithās Know Mercy podcast, Snoop spoke about hisĀ bondĀ with Dre and the evolution of their symbiotic relationship. After highlighting theirĀ early collaborations, the West Coast legend revealed he and Dre had started working on a full-length album over the summer.Ā
āYouāre the first one to hear this: Me and Dr. Dre have been working on an album for the past two months, and itāll be done in November,ā he told Smith (34:50). āAnd itās produced by Dr. Dre. Itās our 30thĀ anniversary to Doggystyle. And the name of the album is Missionary.
āWhy that name?ā the host asked.
ā[Because] the first album was Doggystyle,ā Snoop responded.
Rumors of a Snoop and Dre joint effort began circulating earlier this year, after the two were spotted in the studio with figures likeĀ Saweetie,Ā EPMDās Erick Sermon, and Eminem.
Snoop went on to tease the effort in a number of interviews with outlets like Rap Radar and ET Online; but he remained tight-lipped on what he and Dre had in store.
āWeāre cooking up a little something,ā he told the latter publication. āI donāt wanna talk about it too much, but weāre back together again. Itās been 30 years since we worked on a record, and weāre doing something, weāre working on something.ā
After years with N.W.A., Dre kicked off his solo career with his 1992 single āDeep Cover,ā which marked his first collaboration with Snoop. They then joined forces on Dreās debut album, The Chronic, before teaming up on the aforementioned Doggystyle. Since then, Snoop and Dre have established themselves as one of hip-hopās most prolific and powerful duo.
Earlier this year, the two reunited for theĀ Super Bowl LVI halftime show along withĀ Eminem, Mary J. Blige,Ā Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent, and more. Snoop spoke about the performance during his sit-down with Smith. The host said he enjoyed the event, but wished Snoop and performed āWho Am I (Whatās My Name)?ā
āIt wasnāt my show. It was Dr. Dreās. I was there to be the co-pilot ...ā the rapperĀ replied. āIt was only 12 minutes of performance between Dr. Dreās catalog, Snoop Doggās catalog, 50 Centās catalog, Mary Jās catalog, and Kendrickāsāand Eminemās.ā
