J.I.D has got big plans for 2019.

Fresh off the release of his DiCaprio 2 album, the Atlanta rapper appeared on Beats 1 radio to discuss what he and the Dreamville team have up their sleeves. And, yes, J.I.D already has new music on deck, including a collaborative effort with producer No I.D.

"[Earthgang] are going drop an amazing project next year. I guarantee you that this project is going to go through the roof," he told Nadeska Alexis, co-host of Everyday Struggle. "Then, I'm going to come back with some more stuff. I'm doing a lot of touring off this project, but it's a lot more stuff coming out from my side. Then, I'm doing this project with No I.D. It's cooked. It's crazy. It's like the conceptual project I was talking about. Everybody's cooked, it's amazing."

J.I.D. teased the joint effort over the summer, claiming it was already in progress: "We already started on that s**t," he said on Instagram Live (3:40). "That s**t's amazing."

The conversation then turned to Tory Lanez and Joyner Lucas' recent rap battle. After giving props to both artists, J.I.D revealed his team had pressured him to join the exchange; however, he quickly shut that down.

"My manager hit me bro, was like, 'Bro, you should just implement yourself in this beat.' I'm like, 'Shut up. Why would I do that?' J.I.D said, after insisting he has no interest in going bar-to-bar with someone—at least not now. "[...] Let me get some more plaques under my belt; but if somebody trying to violate theyself, they going to violate theyself, but I'm just going to keep on working."

He explained that he refused to inject himself simply because it wouldn't be a good look.

"I'm like, 'Bro, why would I just throw myself in there and just get ate up? That's like feeding myself to the lions, they going to flame me so crazy," J.I.D. said. "Imagine in that particular scenario what would I say? Like, 'Yo, I hear y'all talking but I'm nice too.' They going to be like, 'Shut up, weren't even talking to you.' If it came organically and somebody just felt like, you know what I'm saying? That's a whole different thing."

Smart choice.

The interview also touches on J.I.D's decision to sign with Dreamville rather than Quality Control, as well as his collaboration with Method Man.
