42 Dugg isnât letting his legal troubles hinder his music releases.
On Friday, the Detroit rapper gifted fans with his Arabian-assisted track âSoonâ and its official video. The piano-drive record finds Dugg reflecting on his come-up, a troubled romantic relationship, and his optimistic outlook.
âSoon, Iâll be backinâ my myself/ Soon, Iâll need nobody else,â he and Arabian sing in the chorus. âWhoâs gonna be there for me when I need?/Help me live, fulfill my dreams.â
The introspective lyrics can be applied to Duggâs current legal woes. The 26-year-old artist was arrested in Michigan earlier this month after failing to turn himself in to a federal prison camp. Dugg was scheduled to surrender back in April, when he would begin serving a six-month prison sentence for weapons-related charges. Though heâs currently being held without bond, Dugg used his new video to reassure fans heâd be home âsoon.â
You can stream âSoonâ now on all major platforms; and watch its black-and-white visual, directed by Rari Digital, via YouTube above. It remains unclear if the record is a stand-alone cut or part of an upcoming project.
The track arrives six weeks after Dugg released Last Ones Left, his joint mixtape with EST Gee.
