After inking a new deal with Motown Records, YoungBoy Never Broke Again has just released his latest single, “Life Support,” which will be featured on his upcoming album, Sincerely, Kentrell. The project is due out September 24.
The visuals that accompany “Life Support” are directed by Rich Porter and were shot through different seasons, apparent by YoungBoy’s change in garb from thick jackets to loose shirts throughout the video. The lyrics of “Life Support” weave a tale of survival, with YoungBoy crooning through heavy topics like taking his grandmother to chemo, discussing how his pain keeps him going, and how he feels like he’s living on life support; one move away from getting the chord pulled.
“Life Support” will be on Sincerely, Kentrell, along with previously released singles “Nevada,” “Toxic Punk,” and “White Teeth.” Pictured on the album cover for the upcoming project is YoungBoy in the booth with his song Kayden Gaulden, as the child looks up and watches his father work.
Sincerely, Kentrell will also be the album included in YoungBoy’s new global partnership deal with Motown. When speaking on the deal, the rapper said that Motown felt like the perfect fit.
“I felt like I had a responsibility to my artists to make sure to find the right partner for my label,” he said. “I’m looking forward working with Ethiopia, Kenoe and Motown Records.”
Chairman and CEO of Motown Records, Ethiopia Habtemariam, mirrored these sentiments as well.
